I, Tonya is a 2017 American biographical sports black comedy film directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Steven Rogers. The film stars Margot Robbie as figure skater Tonya Harding and Sebastian Stan as Jeff Gillooly, alongside Julianne Nicholson, Caitlin Carver, Bobby Cannavale, and Allison Janney in supporting roles. The plot tells the story of the 1994 attack on Nancy Kerrigan, Harding’s rival and Olympic teammate.

I, Tonya had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2017, and was released in the United States on December 8, 2017. The film received positive reviews, with the performances of Robbie and Janney earning notable praise from critics. It received three nominations at the 75th Golden Globe Awards: Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actress – Comedy or Musical for Robbie and Best Supporting Actress for Janney.
